Decimal System Read and Record Place Value | Montessori Distance Learning
Much of the early decimal system work in Montessori is collective. This activity allows children to continue to explore and work with the decimal system number cards independently. Additionally, children sometimes struggle with making the leap of reading large numbers fluently (vs. continuing to name them by category (e.g. "2 tens" vs. "twenty"). I have included instructions about how to present these activities so that children can engage more deeply with the decimal system materials.
