It also requires students to find percent of change from 2013 to 2014 using a formula. I have used the prices that PNC Bank published this year to create the problem. On the back, students are asked to explain their answers in words.

I saw another teacher use this model for a worksheet, so I created and translated my own so that my Spanish speaking students could use it. It is a great way for students to visually see "10 partners". You could also have them reverse it for subtraction. This is a cute activity for students to do on St. Patrick's Day / el dia de San Patricio.
