Build Your Own Clock! No-Prep Hands-On Activity for Learning to Tell Time

This no-prep hands-on activity gives students the chance to build their very own clock with working hands! The student compares their work with a real clock in the classroom to determine where to paste each number and which hand is the minutes or hour hand. Then, using a brad (and maybe a bit of help from the teacher!) they can attach their clock hands to the clock face and use this tool to begin to make their own times. Assign a copy of this google slide show to students. They can work alone, in pairs, or small groups. Challenge students to model an atom of more than one element. Copy and paste the key symbols to create an atom model. Students will use their knowledge of the periodic table to figure out the correct amount of protons, neutrons, and electrons for an atom of their choice.
