PROJECT - Measuring the Perimeter of Your Bedroom

Created by
Jeff Minkowsky
In this project, the student should take a tape measure, ruler, or yardstick and measure the lengths of the walls of their bedroom. They add the measurements and compute the perimeter. Then they ask an adult or older sibling to do the same. Finally, they calculate the percent error based on the parent's / older sibling's measurements. This is a great "distance learning" project.

Oh, no . . . we are making a little catapult to launch marshmallows at the hoop! Oh, yes! Sweet! Use this building project as a challenging independent study for upper elementary, as a whole-class engineering project, or use it to make math and science applications like percentages, measurements and geometry, action/reaction, tr
