The Quest for Pi - A Hands-on Geometry Activity
Pi Day Fun! - This is a very fun, hands-on activity that will generate a concrete understanding of the irrational concept of pi that your students will absolutely love. This activity is wonderful to use outdoors, if possible. Multiplication Cards for 1-15 Blank Fillable Read Description
Blank Flashcards for multiplication. 15 on each page to do 1-15 multiplication tables. Wonderful for grades 1-12. Make sure to print front and back with the flip on the short side. Starting A Small Business Project
This project is designed for 7th-8th graders who have learned how to find unit rate, percents, proportions, and solve/write equations.
I used this activity in a 7th grade honors math class at the end of the year. The students loved this activity! Students felt so proud when making their items and designing their business. When each student brought in their items to sell, it was very neat to see a different side of each student.
Students can be creative as to what they want to sell.

Occupational Spreadsheet
This is a Spreadsheet for showing students where their money goes after taxes and bills. The student picks a reasonable career and inputs the gross salary income and can see where their money goes toward. The lesson is great to show percents and talk about taxes. Students really liked the exercise and had fun seeing if their job would provide what they thought it would.

My Rich Uncle
This is a math project for upper elementary or middle school students.
Students inherit a large sum of money and must spend it all in a short amount of time. This unit covers banking, discounts, and sales tax. I use this with my middle school special education math class and with certain accommodations, my students do very well with the assignment and like it a lot. The students will then research online to find the cost of each item. They will also have to find coupons for each item and be able to calculate the sale cost.
