Calculus Book for Dummies Project
This is a project I assign to my AP Calculus students as a way to review for the AP. It is based off the calculus book for dummies concept. Each chapter has an individual set of requirements, all created by myself. Please feel free to edit as you see fit. It is a great project to review for the AP calculus AB and BC exam. I assign it to the students and let them have free reign on how they want to present the books. Requirements are no loose leaf paper and it must be typed if they have poor hand

AP Calculus Project #1 (English Teacher versus Machine)
This witty project has the students utilize a number of Calculus concepts such as: Riemann sums, over/under approximations, the FTC, accumulation, average value and average rate of change.
It has the students analyze student reading abilities and see whether the new computer program geared towards helping students read is more effective than the famous English teacher Mrs. Kreat!
This is great after the AP test, but would also be useful before hand in preparing for free response questions.

ANGRY DERIVATIVES
This is an exploratory, open-ended calculus project that focuses on understanding derivatives using the popular game Angry Birds. Students will create their own functions, find their derivatives, use resources such as desmos to graph them, and formally summarize their work. This download will give you the detailed student hand-out. I have not included a rubric. I have only used this project once so far and the results were a mixed bag, so I ended up scrapping the rubric I had. If/when I use

AP Calculus Group Activities
This is a collection of five group activities with answer keys that can be used at the end of the school year or intermittently throughout the year. Groups can be selected randomly or created by you. I selected my groups, which I called Lab Groups, based on having one high performing student and one low performing student in each group. I used these lab activities as a grade. They can also be used as final or AP exam practice. They are perfect for end of the year activities to prepare for finals
