In this this discovery-based math activity, students use area and perimeter to decorate a room and/or a backyard. Students are given specific lengths, area and/or perimeter requirements, then prompted to place windows and fireplaces in rooms, and patios and swimming pools in backyards! There is also a creative “free form” option, which allows students to design without any requirements but asks them to record the area/perimeter of their designs.
