My students wanted a script set in Hawai‘i, so I modified The Little Red Hen. It’s still the same basic story; however I used local characters, setting, and some Hawaiian words. For example, the hen finds and plants lilikoi (passionfruit) seeds instead of wheat and the animals include a turtle and a mongoose.
