This Reader's Theater is for three students. We use it in class around Easter but it could be used anytime! It is a twisted version of the Tortoise and the Hare. The moral of the script is that it takes more than writing a lot and writing fast to make a good paper. As you can guess, my students were the inspiration for this one. Too many feel that going fast and writing a lot will make their writing superior. In the script, Rabbit is fast at everything and likes to brag at school. Rabbit says

This is a puppet play (or reader's theater) based on the picture book  Franklin in the Dark by Paulette Bourgeois. The script is worded as closely as possible to the actual book. The story is about a turtle who is scared of his own shell! Speaking roles (7): Narrator, Mother, Franklin, Duck, Lion, Bird, Polar Bear The Narrator's lines are highlighted and each speaking role appears in a different colour font.

This is a fractured fairy tale based on “The Gingerbread Man”. Banana Bread Girl comes out of the oven able to run, jump, and shout. She doesn’t want to be eaten so she runs away as fast as she can.
