The Turtle, the Hare, and the Writing Contest - Small Group Readers' Theater

This Reader's Theater is for three students. We use it in class around Easter but it could be used anytime! It is a twisted version of the Tortoise and the Hare. The moral of the script is that it takes more than writing a lot and writing fast to make a good paper. As you can guess, my students were the inspiration for this one. Too many feel that going fast and writing a lot will make their writing superior. In the script, Rabbit is fast at everything and likes to brag at school. Rabbit says

This Reader's Theater is for 4 - 6 students. It is a Just-So story. In the script, the Elephant’s Child is always asking questions and everyone gets tired of hearing them. So they spank the child every chance they get. One day, the Elephant’s Child asks what the Crocodile eats for dinner. The other animals get nervous and spank it just for asking.
