Teaching self-awareness ties in with self-efficacy. Students that need extra guidance and understanding how the connection of their behavior and choices affects others around them may need direct instruction. Students that struggle with seeing themselves honestly also struggle with self awareness with others. This flow chart will help students to take accountability of their behavior, word choices and also encourage them to be proactive in solving conflict with others.

First-Then cards are one of the most simplistic visual cues for those with Autism. They are simple as well as effective. This type of visual intervention presents to the student what need to be done FIRST, which is THEN followed by the reinforcement.
