Students will return to their seats with $25 (fake) dollars. By randomized stick draw, students will be called to my front table to spend their $25 on various items. In this simulation, a pencil may cost a student $1.00, but a cell phone will cost $30 -- outside of the students' budget. The teacher will adjust prices depending on supply and demand. Students will reflect on the availability of items along with the price.
