Students often find it challenging ot visualize volumes in calculus classes. This is a file to 3D print a model of a volume whose cross sections are squares perpendicular to the x-axis, whose base is defined by the distance between the curves y=x^2 and y=sqrt(x). The download is for an .stl file, which should be printed at very fine resolution. The printed model is 10x10 cm (approximately 4x4 inches).

Solids of Revolution - Animated Visuals

This product gives you .py and .ipynb containing code that generates animated visuals of solids of revolution. This is an excellent resource to help Calculus students visualize how disks, washers, and shells play a role in finding volumes. Animations allow play, reverse, pause, and speed variability. Code is editable for personalized functions and axes of rotation. Code currently contains 7, ready-to-go, built-out blocks. 3 disk method problems - each about different axes2 washer method problems
