HS-PS2-1 Force = Mass x Acceleration Self-Grading Canvas Practice Problems

I use this in my physics class as a "checkpoint" to ensure that students can use the F=MA formula. Students can complete the quiz as many times as they need until they earn a minimum of 7/9 points. The goal is to have students achieve mastery, not just copy off of their neighbors! Be sure to turn on completion requirements in your Canvas module in order to set up your mastery requirements. Based on my settings, students can see their answers and the correct answers after they submit themso they

How Many Seconds Tall Are You Worksheet on freefall

This is a very simple worksheet that gives the freefall times of balls dropped from the height of 7 things,(the door, ceiling, staircase, school building...) and then you are asked to simply calculate the distance they fell using 1/2at2. In three final examples I give the height, and students have to calculate the free fall time. It works very nicely as a worksheet of quick quiz for some of the weaker groups. It may not be meaty enough for the number crunchers.
