Poster Board Project Rubric

Created by
Jon Coley
This is the generic version of project rubrics I‘ve used in different classes through the years - including reading, social studies, and science classes. Many teachers find it difficult to grade projects like these fairly. This rubric is designed to help students understand the parameters of the assignment and provide a handy assessment and grading tool for the teacher. The fun usually begins when you can see that the kids understand the material and can present it in a creative way.

This checklist/rubric allows students to check their writing to ensure it has all the necessary components. How I use it in the classroom: - I give students back their writings with no feedback and the provided checklist. Students are instructed to go through the "self-check" portion of the checklist. If they notice anything missing, they are and fix their mistakes. - After students have score
