I usually go over how to do it as a class and give a few examples of my approach, but it can be a lot of information at once. It can be rough to sit down and help each child work through a puzzle on their own. I made this one-pager as a reference sheet when kids are just learning how. The goal was to explain my rationale for solving a puzzle as well as find a way to make it more visual, hence the color-coding.
