A concrete and relatable example, such as money, is a great tool to help students really understand the interchange of decimals, fractions, and equivalents. It starts with building a dollar, one quarter at a time. A dollar = 100 A quarter is .25 or 25/100 After building equivalents as a group or pairs, move on to the Matching Worksheet, and try the Extra Practice if you have time. I use this worksheet with my high school skills class to build money sense and strengthen math skills.
