FREE Math Pre-Assessment of Basic Skills: Grades 6-8
This is a FREE Math Pre-Assessment that I use in my Grade 7 classroom. It looks at basic skills - multiplication, division, rounding, place value, area, fractions, percents, decimals etc. It's surprising how many students even in Grade 8 or 9 who struggle with long division, for example. This short pre-assessment gives you a starting place for working with your students in September.

Free Math Word Problems
This product is a simple math worksheet. It contains a few simple long division and basic multiplication word problems. Contains 2 by 1 digit division, 2 by 2 digit division. Contains several finished early problems for students to work on. This is a very basic worksheet. Excellent for homework, classwork, and reviewing. It can be used with manipulatives to solve the problems. Great for third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders.

Tic-Tac-Toe grid for Multiplication video
This print out will allow you to give the students a tool to use with the video. Print, cut, fold. The kids then rotate it to guide them using the one's place to their multiplication facts for the 1/2/3/4/6/7/8/9's.
My students eventually learn to make these simple forms on their benchmarks/state tests to confirm they have the correct answer. The form is free, but will not really make sense until the kids watch/learn from the video what the numbers represent. What I like best is that the stu

Mad Minutes - Arithmetic!
At the push of a button this spreadsheet automatically randomly generates new worksheets (and an updated key) for what we call "mad minutes."
Mad minutes consists of 20 arithmetic problems that students are to complete at a relatively quick pace without a calculator. The purpose is to increase numeracy and automaticity. I've even used these in Calculus to enhance students' number sense.

This Partial Quotient Division Poster gives step by step instructions for your kiddos to learn Partial Quotient Division. I use this to hang on my wall to remind my students of the steps for Partial Quotient Division. Some of my students do not understand the "long division" algorithm. This helps A LOT!
