Finding Area with Square Units Interactive Notebook
Students use two rules (one on the length and one on the width) to create square units. Students use rules or another straight edge tool to create square units and determine the area. Students then show their thinking as to how they find the area: counting squares, repeated addition, or multiplication. An extension activity would be for students to create multiply ways to find each area.
