Solar System Walkabout (Solar System Size and Scale Activity)

One of my favorite activities when teaching astronomy is the “Solar System Walkabout”. In this activity we first compare the sun to a bowling ball and then go through each of the planets and show its size at this scale. Once sizes are established, we then try to recreate the correct distance between planets.
