These rubrics helped focus the goals and growth of my choral singers over the course of a semester. One page focuses on singing skills, the next on sight singing, a third on score reading, and the final is about preparation for the concert. They're useful as self-assessment tools - used at the beginning and end of study, students can see their growth. These made our work in class tangible to students. Key Signatures BAFFLE my band students, but this REALLY HELPS them understand WHY key signatures EXIST. I developed this for HS Music Theory and a Popular Piano class, but I used it with my choirs and now my band students. The kids LOVE it - it really helps them understand key signatures confidently for the first time ever. Students make a copy of the presentation and move dots and add labels to show understanding. It is easy for them to manipulate, and easy for me to grade on Google Classroo
