PREP: 1. The first half of this lesson (Reading Comp and 3-2-1) requires no prep. 2. For the origami activity: You will need square shaped paper, enough for a couple of sheets per student. Any paper and any size is fine, it just needs to be in the shape of a square. You do not need special origami paper. Construction paper is not ideal, though it will work. I created this 1 period (45 minute) reading and origami activity with 6th graders in mind. It is appropriate while studying Medieval Japan
