After years of "reviewing" area and perimeter with my Algebra 1 students, I realized that many of my algebra students still had misconceptions about area and perimeter:
- "Perimeter is the outside; area is the inside!"
- Area is length times width (always, any shape)!
- "For area, multiply all the numbers; for perimeter, add all the numbers!"
