This game takes the card game WAR and changes the rules a bit so that students are doing integer addition and multiplication to win a pair. It is good for practice at the end of the unit or as a replacement for worksheet practice. I have also used this right after introducing integer multiplication so that the students make self discoveries about the "odds" of a result being positive or negative.

A quick and fun way to review integer rules...just pick any two integers for the students to work on and practice. For example, say two numbers like -8 and 4, and their job is to find the sum -8 + 4, the difference - 8 - 4, the product -8 x 4, and the quotient - 8/4.
For beginner levels, make sure the two numbers are single digit, and are divisible (the first number has to be a larger absolute value than the second, like 10 and 5, 12 and 4, -16 and 8, etc. so the quotient becomes a whole numb
