Derivatives and Integrals demonstrated visually as Interactive Desmos Graphs

Created by
josfervi
Desmos is a free interactive web-based graphing calculator. This summer, I created two Desmos graphs to demonstrate integrals and derivatives to a class of teenagers in a visual, interactive, intuitive way. I am sharing these graphs here so that you will use them to demonstrate integrals and derivatives, but I also challenge you to create and share your own Desmos graphs to demonstrate all sorts of cool stuff. Desmos, itself, is intuitive and easy to use, but I've also commented each graph so th

There is nothing very special about this material, hence I am giving it for free. My students love study cards. This is basically a set of differentiation and integration formulae put on a word document in study card format. There are 9 study cards on a sheet: 5 with differentiation formulae, and 4 with integration formulae. I normally cut them out and laminate them, but you can also just cut them out and hand them to the students directly. Please don't rate it too hard in terms of creativi

An introduction to l'Hôpital's rule for AP Calculus AB. I recommend working out the examples ahead of time, though each page provides some hint as to the direction the problems will take. Feel free to let me know if you'd like to see more or less of something in the lesson! This lesson assumes students know how to take basic limits and derivatives using various shortcuts and rules (no epsilon-delta limits or definition of the derivative necessary).
