2D mosaic template for shape art! Students need a black marker, a ruler, this sheet and their crayons, (optional) you may add a black construction paper to the back of this sheet to make the art piece stand out more! Have students list what shapes they used and the color of the shapes. The same type of shapes have to be the same color. For example, Squares-Red, Triangle-Yellow, NonPolygons-Black, etc.

Exploring Volume and Surface Area through a Challenge: Candy Box. A great challenge for introducing ideas like nets, surface area, and volume. You need: Colored cardstock paper, white copy paper (A4 or letter size), scissors, tape, and candies. In the file, you will find tips and my experiences with this project, as well as the rules of the challenge and examples to show your students. It can be an individual activity.
