Desmos Function Art Project is a great final project after learning the parent functions, how they can be manipulated through transformations, and their domain and range. This project allows students to blend their creativity and knowledge of the unit. Students will use Desmos.com (graphing calculator) to create functions that build an image. Included are the instructions for the project, as well as the rubric.

This project has students choose and fold a piece of origami. They will use the outline of the figure to create a polygon, triangulate the polygon, and use the Law of Sines and Cosines to find missing parts of triangles. Once triangles have been solved, students will find the area of each triangle (I teach Heron's area formula and Area=0.5(a)(b)sin(C) to streamline the process) to calculate the total area of their figure.
