Sammy SOH-CAH-TOA (the trig-loving sasquatch)
I wrote the story of Sammy SOH-CAH-TOA after 20 years of teaching. I've used many methods of teaching the 3 basic trig functions to high school geometry students, and found that they LOVE this story. It gives them a taste of elementary "story time", if only for a few minutes, and leaves them with an acronym they will REMEMBER! I also have a flat Sammy SOH-CAH-TOA who moves around the classroom all year. The students are always looking for his new location when they come to class.
