To celebrate the new year, present this unique challenge to your gifted math students. The directions are explained on the worksheet. Students will need to use math processes to arrive at the value of the new year number, beginning with their age number and moving through ten steps. Students will begin to see the magic of numbers, patterns, and the power that we have in arriving at the answers we need, sometimes through some trial and error, as they complete this New Years Math Challenge.
