Bill Nye Architecture 4 Question Quiz

Created by
Jennifer Pruett
Hello! This is a four question, plus a bonus, quiz on half sheets in Microsoft Word. It has an answer key. This is designed for a quick "flashback" after watching the video and should take less than 10 minutes to take and go over the answers. I use these in my classroom after every Bill Nye The Science Guy DVD that we watch. I grade it by making each question worth 25 points and the bonus (which never counts against you) worth 10. These are great to leave with a substitute!

Here is a quiz or worksheet on Coulomb's Law. The college version is just given two charges and their distances calculate the force. The honors version has that but also solves for distance between them, or if you know one charge what the other ... 1. A positive charge of XXX and a negative charge of XXX separated by XX, what's the force? 2. A positive charge of XXX and a negative charge of XXX separated by XX, what's the force? 3. Two identical charges XXX separated by XX, What is the force bet

Projectile Fun! This Pirate Worksheet is Rated AARRGH!! 30-60-90 triangles

You do not have to know sine and cosine for this worksheet. I've listed their values out of courtesy but only knowledge of 30-60-90 triangles (side opp hyp is 1/2 hyp, other side is .866 times hyp). Here is a chance to practice solving a couple of projectile problems. It can also be used as a quick quiz. I have provided a second copy with a different velocity initial so that different classes can't use the same answers. Both sheets only use 30 and 60 degrees because I wanted them to rely on the

How to Read Vernier Calipers Notes

Vernier Calipers are a valuable measuring tool that enable us to increase our degree of precision when measuring the size of objects. Digital and dial calipers are common in industry, but they can be pricey for a STEM lab to provide one for every student. Plastic "manual" calipers are relatively inexpensive (less than $2.00 per caliper). However, learning to read these calipers can be somewhat confusing, this set of notes guides students through the steps on reading plastic calipers.

Each day I assigned certain steps and gave the students time to spend on each step. We shared the research with the groups. Before students moved on they had to show me their design prototype to make sure they had at least 3 simple machines. You can increase the amount of simple machines or say at least 5 simple machines and some can be repeated.

Teams of students, which can range from 2 to 4, get a box of everyday items and are required to complete mini-Rube Goldbergs using these materials. Increasing in difficulty as the levels progress, students must work together to apply these simple machines to accomplish each task. For example, the last challenge requires students to turn the page of a book. Simple, right? Until you can only use a spoon, string a
