I created this character chart to help students differentiate between the characters in Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds. Students filled in the chart as they read each chapter. After completing this chart, you can have students complete an open mind activity or character poster showing visual representations of their characters. You could also have them conduct a texting exercise, create fake social media profiles for the characters, or record video interviews of the characters.
