Parent Handouts: Toys to Increase Speech & Language Skills
As Black Friday nears and shopping lists are made, SLPs have the the opportunity to recommend great toys to increase speech and language skills. I wanted to make some handouts to send home with my students this month. I made two different handouts. One handout is for toddlers and one handout is for preschoolers. Each handouts has a four general toy recommendations and some ideas about how to encourage communication skills.

Language Parent Road Map Handouts
Monthly themed parent handouts created to give parents a guide in order to aid in the increase of language opportunities within the environment. Four modalities targeted - reading, language concepts, thought provoking questions, and themed vocabulary. I print these out with a different colored printer paper every month, for instance, November would be a rusty orange and June would be a bright yellow! Makes it pop more in the backpack, and when parents hang it on their fridge at home.
