The lesson can be tailored to your student's grade level and your time constraints. I personally used this lesson with 7th graders in a 50-minute block. An extension opportunity is to utilize the song as a class anthem for ongoing reinforcement of the lesson.

This a great resource to use throughout your bucket drumming unit! It challenges students to gain proficiency with keeping a steady tempo while increasing the rhythmic difficulty in their drumming patterns. As each level is achieved, award your student a belt colour (like in martial arts). This resource gradually leads towards flams, rolls, ties, articulation, and dynamics.
