This is a 15 point quiz that is based on common core state standards for grade 5/ unit 5, for volume. Students are assessed on the definition of volume, formula for volume, and are given labeled rectangular prisms and asked to find the volumes.

I have used this comprehensive activity sheet for both a quiz review and a classwork grade. Both uses have worked well. This is a great addition to any number sense mathematics unit, and was the perfect addition to our Investigations Unit! Enjoy!

Practice mathematical reasoning in the context of Earth Day in this four-day math unit! In light of educational funding being continually cut and the upcoming celebration of Earth Day, we are going to propose a plan for helping our school using the money we raise from a recycling program. These proposals will help raise money for our school at the same time we are helping the planet with increased recycling!
