Highly Effective Strategy for Teaching Right Triangles - FREEBIE!
Give students a transparent tool to help them label triangles!
Students often have trouble labeling parts (such as x, 2x, a, b, c, opposite, adjacent, hypotenuse, etc) of triangles for Special Triangles, Pythagorean Theorem, and Trigonometry. To help my students do this correctly, I give each student a labeled triangle printed on transparency film.

Re-flooring a house
I went and collected free samples from my local home depot to help make this project tactile. The students choose a floor plan and flooring. The students then must find the area of 5 rooms and then calculate how much it would take to re-floor each of the 5 rooms they chose. I found this idea online but I made the worksheet and found my own floor plans online. ENJOY!
