Map Skills Web Quest and Excel Practice: Technology Lesson
Students use Microsoft Excel and selected websites to learn and apply information about the maps. They are able to study social studies while practicing saving documents, formatting cells, copy and paste functions, fill color, grid lines, clip art and clicking a link from a PDF or word document.

Understanding Computer Hardware with Microsoft Excel: Technology Lesson
Prior to this lesson the students learn about the various ports and cables that are visible on a computer. They use this information to help them to identify computer hardware.
Students examine 12 computer parts (I use old parts form junked computers) that have been labeled 1 through 12. They would with a partner or a small group to make an educated guess about what the part is and what it likely does.

My Dream Car: A Microsoft Excel Project
I found that my students really enjoyed doing this Excel project in Computer Applications. Students will use Excel and its capabilities, to apply formulas and charts to a subject which they find fun and interesting, their dream car. They will choose several cars and will then do a cost analysis of their selected cars. To do this project, they have to select several cars, find cost and fuel economy information on those cars, download pictures of the cars and use Excel to do a cost analysis.
