This assignment may be used as an introduction to tessellations, a quick-check or a general paragraph writing assignment. It includes a writing rubric ranging from a 1 -4 Likert-Style Scale. It has been tested with positive results in both my 2nd and 3rd grade general education and 1st through 5th grade talented and gifted classroom.

Looking for a fun way to engage students in practicing area and perimeter skills? How about designing a beach towel? This project can be differentiated for a class of diverse learners and the combination of math and art will hold their attention. The finished product is great as a bulletin board display or as a desk display for a math night or other event. There are different options included as well as a rubric. Instructions and standards are included for third, fourth, or fifth grade.

This worksheet is focused on complex perimeter. The math mystery puzzle helps keeps students engaged by challenging them not only to solve the math problems, but to use critical thinking skills to solve the riddle. 10 problems to solve. At the end, a message will be revealed about an animal that starts with the letter n. This is part of my animal edition math puzzle series. Full bundle coming soon.
