This is a great formative assessment, independent work, homework practice, or just plain fun. Have the students cut apart the 14 different triangles, find the area, and match it with the corresponding answer. You could turn it into memory, use it as a center, the possibilities are endless. What a great way for students to check their own work and understanding.

Have students work in partners to decompose and find the area of each of the complex shapes. There are TWO DIFFERENT matches included as well as a four question quiz at the end. Students can do this as a match, play memory, or solve them as task cards. Endless possibilities.
