Today’s activity is perfect for your Pre-K to 2nd grade students. This is a great activity for the beginning of the school year! For younger students, it will be crucial for you to model your own glyph first. I highly suggest printing ‘Scrappy’ on cardstock, to increase his durability. Begin by reading the story “Scrappy the Bear” to your class. I usual

One of my favorite activities to do at the beginning of the year is a name graph. It's a quick little activity that allows me to quickly assess which of my students know how to spell their name, who can write their own name, and who can count. We do the graph as a whole class, but you could use this page as a student recording sheet as well. You could also project the graph and do it on the computer. I may use our school's poster maker to blow it up to a large size so I can hang it up for a
