In this Groundhog Day themed STEM challenge, students figure out multiple ways to pop a "groundhog" up out of his "burrow," and then they must accurately measure his shadow using centimeters. This activity challenges students to call on most of the Standards of Mathematical Practices, as well as to write clearly for a specific purpose.
