A tool to talk about fractional parts, vocabulary (numerator, denominator), etc. Traditional fraction pieces of rectangles and circles become layered with various foods to increase engagement, encourage story problem ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of fractional parts and their meaning. Daily Agenda Slide Template
Every single day when kids file into class, the first thing they ask is "what are we doing today?" It's exhausting answering this question, but as a fellow type "A" personality, the anxiety and need for a routine is real. Each day, my kids file into class read any announcements (i.e. upcoming quizzes), see their word of the day, the agenda, and homework all on a neat slide (color coded for different grade levels!). Decomposing Fractions Lesson
This slideshow is a tool to use when teaching the decomposition of fractions. It is an introductory fractions lesson that makes a great precursor to adding fractions with like denominators. The lesson was created to go with EDM4 Lesson 5-1. The slideshow can be used with white boards/slates to engage students in the mini lesson. There is no script here; this slideshow is a set of visuals to increase engagement and real-life application of basic fractions.
