SMARTboard lesson with four steps to solving a math word problem suing UPSA: understand, pick a strategy, solve, and answer and check. 26 page notebook file with teacher notes on animated pages, CCSS mathematical practices addressed, and examples of each step. Sample questions are also given for each step so as students are introduced to concept they get immediate practice. Learning is scaffolded throughout the lesson. Interesting graphics and fonts to hold students attention.
