This unit was designed for 4th Grade math students. It could be used for Advanced 2nd/3rd graders or as review/reteaching for 4th/5th graders. All pages are fully-editable in MS Word. See the preview for the first lesson and part of the quiz. This unit is hands-on. Each lesson includes directions for making and using a set of straws and pipe cleaners to construct various kinds of triangles. These can be made once and used over and over again - year after year - and in many other geometry units!

I set this activity up as file folder games. Use the labels to label your file folders. Cut out all of the images. Place the larger ones, firefighter, mail carrier, etc on the sides of the file folders towards the top so there is space below for velcro. Laminate file folders and cut out and laminate the sorting pieces. Attach velcro below the pictures on the file folders for sorting. Students sort through the images to find the ones that belong to the correct community helper. When children
