Problem Based Learning Compose 2D Shapes

Created by
Michelle Baker
Problem Based Learning requires real-world, standards based inquiry that fosters collaborative learning teams and integration. Here is a PBL task for composing 2D shapes to create composite shapes. Students use 6 trapezoids to compose enough seating for a Birthday Party that has 18 guests. A floor plan is provided in which learning teams must find various ways to compose the 6 trapezoid tables to allow enough room for food, gifts, cake, and a dance or game area.
