Akkusativ - QUIZ German
Powerpoint with nine multiple choice questions. The students will need to chose which answer is the correct one. I helped them by adding pictures of the words and here and there specifying the gender. Usefull to revise the theory of the accusative case. This is fun if you choose three spots in the classroom to be 'A', 'B' and 'C'. The students then have to walk around and choose a spot. My students loved it! This is a quiz about drinks in German that you can either project on a screen in front of the class or that students can take individually on their devices (computer/tablets/phones etc.). The file is saved as .ppsx, therefore you should have PowerPoint on your computer. All you need to do is to open the file and start clicking on the right (or wrong) answers :) Enjoy!

PowerPoint presentation on the German school system. This also includes a link to an accompanying Nearpod presentation. Within the Nearpod, there is a 10 question true or false quiz, a free response question and a virtual field trip to 2 different German schools. I use this for my exploring foreign language class, but is also suitable for German 1.

Kunstwerke der Woche: famous German art works
This is a PPT with famous German art works. Some slides include vocabulary labels. I have used these "artworks of the week" in a 1st year class to provide rich yet comprehensible input beyond textbook/readers. Depending on the level of your class, just make a few statements about each image and ask a few questions. In my classes I sometimes do the same painting 2-3 days a week, just a few minutes each, and I always review previous week's art works. Hold students accountable by adding a question
