This PowerPoint presentation introduces students to the Law of the Twelve Tables, the Romans first attempt to codify law, through the listing of the laws themselves and colorful and humorous depictions of the laws. It works well in Latin and history classrooms and as a change-of-pace lesson for a 'rainy' day. This colorful PowerPoint introduces students to basic Latin classroom vocabulary. It is a good PowerPoint to use at the beginning of Latin I. After showing the PowerPoint several times and practicing proper pronunciation of the vocabulary words, the teacher may choose to extend the lesson by calling on students one at a time using simple Latin phrases and directing them to go to various places in the classroom, e.g. " Surge et ambula ad ianuam."
