Close Reading and Color Coded Evidence - Made Fun! (Social Studies Integration)
Common Core says kids need to find the evidence and write about it. But how easy is this to teach, much less get the kids to actually *do* on their own?
I created this out of necessity for my third graders, who desperately need to learn how to cite their evidence. I combined something they love to do -- color with crayons and markers -- with a few things they haven't learned to love yet (close reads and citing evidence)!
