Hi, I'm Tom. An EFL teacher from the UK. Ethical English is an education eco-system which I created to facilitate specialist research, teacher development, and free language lessons to low-income households in Vietnam where I currently work. It offers bespoke courses, teacher workshops, and free EFL lessons based on peer-reviewed research. Some of which includes my own published and peer-reviewed studies.

Teaching style
I make sure all our classes are student-centred and activity-led. That’s why we focus on cooperative learning, structured peer interaction, and high-engagement turn-based routines. Many of our resources are designed around these interactive approaches, including our collections of turn-taking speaking cards, whole-class mingle activities, group discussion routines, and our very own Pick 'n' Choose™ activity set which we recently developed and created. All are created to boost participation, increase student talk time, and strengthen communication skills.
We believe in these approaches because we’ve seen the results first-hand in our own classrooms. Decades of international research show that structured cooperative learning increases student talk time, improves achievement, and supports positive classroom relationships. These routines help learners take responsibility, support one another, and engage more deeply with language and content.
