About the store
I have over a decade of experience teaching middle school mathematics and science in Florida, working with students across a wide range of ability levels in diverse, academically demanding classrooms. My work has centered on 7th grade math — developing standards-aligned materials, designing structured practice sequences, and helping students build both procedural fluency and conceptual understanding. The resources in this store were created in, and tested by, a real classroom. They exist because I needed them and couldn't find them elsewhere.

About the store

Experience

I have over a decade of experience teaching middle school mathematics and science in Florida, working with students across a wide range of ability levels in diverse, academically demanding classrooms. My work has centered on 7th grade math — developing standards-aligned materials, designing structured practice sequences, and helping students build both procedural fluency and conceptual understanding. The resources in this store were created in, and tested by, a real classroom. They exist because I needed them and couldn't find them elsewhere.

Teaching style

My approach is built on three things: clarity, structure, and confidence. Students learn math best when a concept is introduced clearly, practiced consistently, and connected to real problem-solving. I break instruction into deliberate steps — not to oversimplify, but to make the path visible. I model, I scaffold, and I hold high expectations while making sure students have exactly what they need to meet them. The resources I create reflect this. Nothing is filler. Every page has a purpose.

Awards & shining teacher moments

The moments that stay with me aren't the formal ones — they're the students who walked in believing they couldn't do math and left proving themselves wrong. Over the years I've watched students who began the year below grade level finish with enough mastery to move forward with confidence. That shift — from "I can't" to "watch me" — is the result of clear instruction, consistent practice, and someone who refuses to set a low ceiling. Those students are why these resources exist.

My own education history

I hold a Master's degree in Science Education and a Doctorate in Education, both of which have shaped how I think about curriculum design, student learning, and instructional materials. My graduate work gave me a research-grounded understanding of how students build mathematical knowledge — and how poor instructional design can get in the way of it. That foundation drives how I build every resource: intentional sequencing, standards precision, and design that doesn't create unnecessary cognitive load.

Additional biographical information

The Calculated Classroom started as a practical necessity. After years of searching for resources that were actually aligned to Florida B.E.S.T. standards, clean enough to use without reformatting, and rigorous enough to mean something — I stopped searching and started building. Everything in this store was designed for real classroom use, not just to look good in a preview image. Resources ship in both English and Spanish because my students need both. Layouts are deliberate because cognitive clarity matters. Answer keys are always included because teacher time is not optional. This store is the product of what happens when a decade of classroom experience meets a commitment to doing the work correctly.
