Experience

I’m a longtime educator and curriculum designer with over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and site- and district-level leader. My work centers on language development, multilingual learners, and creating learning experiences that support both academic growth and student well-being. My resources are designed to support language growth, regulation, and meaning-making through thoughtful structure, music, and human-centered pedagogy. Over time, these offerings will continue to expand and be organized by grade bands (TK–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12) to support developmental clarity and flexible use across classrooms. Many resources are intentionally designed to be universally appropriate across a wide span of TK–12 settings. These offerings are created to help hearts sing and classrooms hum with deeper intention, warmth, and vibrancy through inspired use. I also hope they invite moments of joy, playfulness, and reflection for the adults supporting learners—honoring the child within when inspiration calls.

Teaching style

My teaching style blends clarity, warmth, and rhythm. I design learning experiences that support regulation, curiosity, and deep understanding across developmental stages, especially for multilingual learners. Music, simple routines, and language-rich structures help students feel grounded and confident in expressing meaning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my proudest moments as an educator have come from watching students find their voice—especially multilingual learners who begin to see language as a source of connection, confidence, and possibility. I’ve also found deep meaning in supporting teachers and schools as they bring language-rich, human-centered practices into daily classroom life.

My own education history

I have formal training in education, with 14 years of classroom teaching experience across K–8 settings and 17 years of site- and district-level administration experience across K–12 systems. I’ve continued learning throughout my career through teaching, coaching, leadership roles, and curriculum development work focused on language development, literacy, and whole-child learning. More than any single credential, my approach is shaped by years of listening across learning communities and creating inspired learning spaces where curiosity, playfulness, and care invite rigor to feel humane, joyful, and full of possibility.

Additional biographical information

The Language Loom Studio was created as a space where language, learning, and calm meet. Many of the resources here are inspired by daily classroom rituals, multilingual practice, and the belief that how students feel while learning matters just as much as what they learn. Thank you for being here—and for the care you bring to your students.
